Sec. 700-01: Administrative Committees

Responsible Administrator: Assistant Chancellor
Revised:
February 1997 (reviewed May 2005)

The administrative committee system is an important mechanism for obtaining campuswide input into the decision-making process. These committees make recommendations to the Chancellor and the vice chancellors on a wide range of subjects which affect the campus community. Experience indicates that they have been most effective in guiding campus policies. The committees have three roles: (1) responding to suggestions or to requests for advice, (2) identifying needs or concerns within the charge of the committee, and (3) recommending action.

Faculty, staff, and students are represented on most administrative committees and representation of the diverse campus population is encouraged.

Administrative committees are appointed by the Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor, and vice chancellors.
