RE: Waiver of Admission Application Fee

A Presidential Directive, dated March, 1969, authorized waiver of the Admission Application Fee upon the recommendation of an appropriate official designated by the Chancellor. I am designating the Director, Educational Opportunity Program/Student Affirmative Action-Outreach and the Director of Admissions and Relations with Schools as the appropriate officials to recommend waiver of the application fee for new admission, readmission, and intercampus transfer for undergraduate applicant students eligible for the Educational Opportunity Program. A post-auditing procedure for determining the validity of a student's request for application fee waiver will be implemented.

This authority may not be redelegated further and supersedes the May 27, 1986 delegation of authority from Chancellor Peltason on the same subject.
